Well this was an adventure trying to find the right colourist that could deliver my vision for the cover. Eventually i found this chap: [link]
He did the original colours and did a very good job by the way. But i'm a pain in the ass perfectionist, and thought i would tweak it a little. After vest gave me the file with the layers i gave up trying to figure out how to adjust the layers individually.........its like a labyrinth. I'm no colourist.....so i had to do it the hard way...On the flattened image. what did i do? I adjusted the lighting on the far side of her face. I put a skin texture over the adjustments. And then i lightened the rest of her body to match her face.
After convertng to cymk i had to ad a bit of saturation to brighten it up a bit. Oh and i made all the roses uniform.

Heh, I feel ya. My painting method can only be described as schizophrenic, so I apologize if the layering seemed a little nonsensical. If I remember, the order goes something like flats, shades, highlights, environment, highlights again, additional shades, more environment, paintover, adjustment layers, more flats, adjustment layers, paintover, highlights once more, another round of adjustment layers, paintover again, texture, final round of adjustment layers, glare, glare, environment, glare, merged copy, lines overlay, glare, then another merged. I should bag a loaf of bread with each PSD to leave a crumb trail for finding your way back...

Thanks for the compliments, though! I'm glad to have been able to work on this piece, and have received a very positive response to it. Some are saying it's the best work I've ever done, but honestly, your 'perfectionist' attitude is what pushed it to that level.
